The central element of the installation is a facetted mirror reflecting fragments of Francesco del Cossa’s effigy of St. Lucia which had been drawn onto the walls. The fragments merge in the facetted mirror into a complete image only when seen from a particular spot. At night a light is directed from this spot onto the mirrors and with this light up the area around the fragments.
Francesco del Cossa’s painted St. Lucia, the patron saint of eyesight, with a lily in her hand. The blossoms of the lily are formed as eyes.
